Environmental Partnership Project Extended Until the End of April 2022

19.05.2021

On 14 May 2021, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMU) commissioned a modification offer with a cost-neutral extension of the Sino-German Environmental Partnership project until the end of April 2022. The extension of the project duration became necessary due to the COVID-19-related postponement of the 15th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 15) in Kunming. The CBD COP 15 is now scheduled to take place in October 2021. During this conference, the world’s eyes will be on China, where a new Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework is expected to be agreed upon.

Since 2013, the Sino-German Environmental Partnership Project has supported bilateral environmental policy dialogue through the exchange of experience and advice on various specialist topics. In September 2017, the project entered its second phase.
