Dr Christian Stärz, Director of the project Sino-German Environmental Partnership II, was nominated by the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) to become the International Expert of the CCICED Special Policy Study (SPS) “Major Green Technology Innovation and Implementation Mechanisms”. Co-Team Leads of this SPS working group are Prof. Dirk Messner, President of the German Federal Environment Agency and Dominic Waughray, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum.

• • The virtual CCICED CHAD meeting (Chief Advisor – Secretariat Joint Working Meeting) for Q1 2021 took place on February 5. The aim of the joint working meeting was to report on the CCICED work plan for 2021 and progress of the working groups. Furthermore, the focus was on research quality control as well as the preparations for phase VII (2022-2027) of the CCICED. The German membership in CCICED will also be supported by the Environmental Partnership Project in Phase VII.

• • The Environment Partnership Project is contributing to the coordination of the CCICED “Partner Consultation Meeting” on April 12, which will focus, among other things, on the preparations for Phase VII (2022-2027) of the CCICED.
