Training on Biodiversity, Ocean Protection and Climate Change in Germany and Europe

From July 28th to August 11th, the Sino-German Environmental Partnership project organized a training tour in Germany for the project partners – Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) and China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED). The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. ZHAI Yijun, the Director of the Minister’s Office, General Office, (MEE). Delegation members included representatives from Department of Institutional Administration and Human Resources Management, General Office, Bureau of Ecological and Environmental Enforcement, Department of International Cooperation of MEE, and CCICED Secretariat.

The training aimed at giving a series of comprehensive introductions mainly focus on biodiversity, ocean conservation and environmental sustainability. The delegation has visited the Ministry for Environment, the Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the German Environment Agency (UBA), the Ecological Institute, the VDI Center for Resource Efficiency, International WWF Centre for Ocean Conservation and other institutes focusing on relevant topics. The delegation has learnt German and European organizational structure and operational management, experience, policies and regulations in environmental areas including sustainability, resource utilization efficiency, ocean conservation and waste management etc.
