Video conference between the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Director-General of the Environment Department of the European Commission
On 27 July, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment Zhao Yingmin held a video conference with Florika Fink-Hooijer, the Director-General of the Environment Department of the European Commission, to have an in-depth exchange of views on topics related to the second phase of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
China said that the second phase of COP15 will discuss the development of new targets and tasks for global biodiversity governance. As the Chair of COP15, China will actively coordinate and communicate with all parties, listen to their views extensively, and strive to reach an ambitious and pragmatic post-2020 global biodiversity framework to advance the global biodiversity governance process.
The European side expressed its continued support to the Chinese presidency of the COP15 for the success of the meeting.
